How do I know if I need a repair or a full roof replacement?
It depends on the age and condition of the roof. A few damaged shingles or a single leak can often be repaired. A roof with widespread wear, repeated leaks or damaged decking usually needs replacement. We can inspect it and tell you which makes sense.
How long does a typical asphalt shingle roof last?
Asphalt shingle roofs commonly last around 20 to 25 years, depending on the shingle, ventilation, installation and weather. One customer's roof was about 20 years old when we advised that a repair was not practical.
What roofing materials do you install?
For homes we install shingle roofing, and we also do metal roofing. For commercial and flat roofs we work with EPDM, TPO, PVC, modified bitumen and built-up roofing. We also repair and install gutters and downspouts.
Do you repair storm damage?
Yes. We repair storm damage, and our free estimates come with photos of what we find. Call us to set up an inspection.
Can you fix a gutter that has come loose?
Yes. We repair and rehang gutters and downspouts. A customer once brought in photos of a loose gutter, and we repaired it without her needing to climb a ladder.

Is the estimate really free?
Yes, we offer free estimates and evaluations. Customers have told us our estimates arrive with photographs and written recommendations, and we do not pressure anyone to sign.

Do you offer financing?
Yes. We offer financing for roofing projects, with flexible payment plans. Ask us about it when you call or request your estimate.
What warranties do you offer?
For residential work we offer a 10-year labor warranty at no extra charge. If there is a problem with our installation, we will fix it. We also offer a five-star CertainTeed warranty.
Do you work on both homes and businesses?
Yes. We do residential shingle roofing and commercial and industrial flat roofing. Flat roofing was our first division and we have done it for over 70 years.
Who runs Bernecker Brothers Roofing?
The Bernecker family has run it since 1949. Dick Bernecker is the owner, his son Steve manages the company, and Steve's son John runs daily operations.
